Four Decades of History

1974 - 1984: The Beginning

Lillian's Restaurant opens its doors on Broadway in Saratoga Springs. The restaurant quickly becomes known for its warm atmosphere and classic American cuisine. In the early years, Lillian's establishes itself as a gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

1984 - 1994: Growth & Recognition

The restaurant expands its dining rooms and gains recognition for its Victorian decor. Lillian's becomes a popular destination for special occasions, hosting numerous weddings, anniversaries, and business functions. The French Onion Soup becomes a signature dish.

1994 - 2004: A Saratoga Institution

Lillian's celebrates 20 years in business. The restaurant is now firmly established as a Saratoga landmark. The summer patio is added, providing al fresco dining during the beautiful Saratoga summers. Regular customers span multiple generations.

2004 - 2014: Four Decades Strong

The restaurant continues to thrive, serving the community through changing times while maintaining its classic charm. Lillian's hosts its 250th wedding, serves its 500,000th bowl of French Onion Soup, and prepares for the 40th anniversary celebration.

"As we celebrate 40 years of Lillian's, I find myself reflecting on the thousands of faces that have walked through our doors. I've seen couples meet here, fall in love, get married here, and then bring their own children. I've watched families celebrate milestones and friends gather for happy hours. This restaurant has been more than a business – it's been a home for memories.

I want to thank every single person who has dined with us over these 40 years. Our staff, past and present, who have worked so hard to make Lillian's special. And the Saratoga community, which has supported us through four decades. Here's to 40 wonderful years!"
